AC/DC guitarist talks about plans for new album
THIS NEWS BROUGHT TO YOU BY http://www.hennemusic.com

AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young spoke with Classic Rock magazine about the bands plans for a new album. Young confirmed they are working on a potential follow-up to 2008s Black Ice, but he warned fans are in for a longer wait than expected, after singer Brian Johnson suggested there would be new material next year. You know what Brian is like. He just says things and then walks away, says Malcolm. It will be a little while a year or two, anyway. I have been doing some jamming on some song ideas but I do that all the time, as do the rest of the band, he continued. We are still working. But we had a long rest between Stiff Upper Lip and Black Ice, so I think we need a couple of years to recuperate and work on it a bit more. In January, Johnson revealed that the group’s plans for a new album had been put on hold due to a band members health issues. One of the boys is a little sick and I can't say anything, but he is getting better, Brian told Mike Cowhead Calta of The Cowhead Show. He's doing wonderful. Full recovery fully expected. At the time, Johnson remained hopeful that the group would reconnect and hit the studio sometime this year. It is a wonderful thing when we get in a room, said Brian. Whenever the boys get back together, I get all excited. The boys, after a while, pick the guitars up, Phil Rudd will make his way to the drums, Cliff Williams will pull his bass out and then all of a sudden this noise comes out and I sit there with just this big old grin on my face."

New Rush Song Streaming Online
THIS NEWS BROUGHT TO YOU BY http://www.hennemusic.com /

"Headlong Flight," the first single from Rush's forthcoming album, "Clockwork Angels," has surfaced online. "'Headlong Flight' was one of those songs that was a joy to write and record from beginning to end," bassist Geddy Lee tells Rolling Stone. "Alex [Lifeson] and I had blast jamming in my home studio one day before the second leg of the Time Machine tour, and I did not revisit that jam until a year later. Alex and I assembled the song to be an instrumental and its original title was 'Take That Lampshade Off Yo Head!', but once we saw the lyrics Neil [Peart] had written, I knew that the spirit of the lyrics matched the instrumental perfectly and it was just a matter of making them fit and writing the melodies." The full album, Rush's first collection of original material in over five years, is due June 12. Listen to the new song here

Outlaws all month long For Superstar Set

Southern rock unit the Outlaws was formed in Tampa, FL in 1972 by singers/guitarists Hughie Thomasson and Henry Paul, bassist Frank O'Keefe, and drummer Monte Yoho. With the 1973 addition of guitarist Billy Jones, the lineup was complete, and after a year of intense touring the band became the first act signed to Arista under Clive Davis; the Outlaws' self-titled 1975 album spotlighted their Eagles-influenced harmonies and Allman Brothers-like guitar attack, yielding the Top 40 hit "There Goes Another Love Song." In the wake of 1977's Bill Szymczyk-produced Hurry Sundown, both Paul and O'Keefe exited, with guitarist Freddie Salem, bassist Harvey Dalton Arnold, and second drummer David Dix signing on for the 1978 concert set Bring It Back Alive and the studio effort Playin' to Win. The lineup shuffles continued when Arnold announced his departure following 1979's In the Eye of the Storm, with bassist Rick Cua recruited for the next year's Ghost Riders in the Sky, which netted a Top 40 entry with its title track, a rendition of the Vaughn Monroe favorite.
